Biocontrol of Potato Common Scab Cultivated on Different Soil Mulch

چکیده

Potato common scab causes significant economic losses worldwide, and current control methods remain ineffective. However, biological have been effective in controlling phytopathogens several other crops. Trichoderma spp. Bacillus subtilis are the most studied microorganisms agriculture for plant diseases. interactions between these agents organic matter present at cultivation site not extensively studied. Therefore, objective of this study was to evaluate action potato using different soil mulch compositions. Two field experiments were performed simultaneously: one tested T. longibrachiatum (TL) asperellum (TA) treatments scab, two types (vetch palisade grass) four microorganism (TL, TA, B. + Enterococcus faecium Lactobacillus plantarum (BSEFLP), licheniformis (BSBLTL)). In first experiment, TL TA decreased disease severity from 80% 34%, 56% 5%, respectively, based on yield caused by scab. second BSEFLP reduced 61% 62%, compared with that (98%), 38% 40%, when combined vetch (control: 98%), demonstrating microbial response can be influenced cover crop. work provides evidence is a viable alternative control.

Culture-Based Assessment of Microbial Communities in Soil Suppressive to Potato Common Scab

Meng, Q. X., Yin, J. F., Rosenzweig, N., Douches, D., and Hao, J. J. 2012. Culture-based assessment of microbial communities in soil suppressive to potato common scab. Plant Dis. 96:712-717. A field in East Lansing, MI, showed a decline of potato common scab compared with an adjacent potato field. To confirm that the decline was due to biological factors, the soil was assayed. In the greenhouse...

Common Scab of Potato as Affected by Soil Mineral Elements and Tuber Chemical Constituents

During 2009/2010 growing season, a survey was conducted in three regions where potato was intensively cultivated in three different governorates. These were ElNubaria, El-Salheya and El-Sheikh Zaied in El-Behera, ElSharkia and El-Ismailia governorates respectively. The causal common scab isolates of Streptomyces scabies recovered were isolated from potato tubers showing different scab symptoms ...

Determination of Factors Associated with Natural Soil Suppressivity to Potato Common Scab

Common scab of potatoes is a disease, which is difficult to manage due to complex interactions of the pathogenic bacteria (Streptomyces spp.) with soil, microbial community and potato plants. In Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in the Czech Republic two sites (Vyklantice and Zdirec) were selected for a study of common scab disease suppressivity. At both sites, a field with low disease severity occur...

Foliar Treatments of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid for Control of Common Scab in Potato Have Beneficial Effects on Powdery Scab Control

Prior studies have shown that applications of the synthetic auxin 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) to the foliage of potato plants can reduce common scab. Here field and glasshouse trials suggest that 2,4-D foliar treatments may also reduce the biologically distinct tuber disease, powdery scab. Significant correlations between suppression of common and powdery scab from the field trials s...
